Our forum software was custom built for vbCity.com because Snitz, UBB, vBulletin, and other forums would not integrate well outside the forum pages, and did not offer all the features users required. And also we thought why should we use 3rd party scripts if we can build our own, superior, Forum :) Hundred thousands posts, and years later, we think it works well.
